Project Name: South Asia Wash Result Project-2
 
Introduction to the project implementation agency EcoSocial Development Organization (ESDO):
In 1988, a group of developing youths from Thakurgaon came forward to support the victims of the floods flooded by the northern region of Bangladesh. Later, due to the closest to the society especially the laggard populations, they felt that an organized workplace could make these lagged populations change in general and in particular the fate of women. On April 3, 1988, ESODA got an institutionalized form in the northern region of Bangladesh.
 
ESDO Vision: Establishing an equitable society free from mutual discrimination.
 
ESDO Mission: Increasing the income of the poor people by reducing economic poverty and the practice and excellence of human well-being by using comprehensive income generating activities, food security, primary education and literacy, health and nutrition, human rights and good governance, environmental development etc. The organization is firm in its aim and for this it is effectively working to empower the social, economic and human attainments of the targeted population in ascertaining the equality of human rights, human dignity and gender equality. Overall, women and especially children are the main focus of ESDO activities. The main goal is to ensure the access and accessibility of the over-poor people in all types of service.
 
Financing: WaterAid Bangladesh
 
WaterAid is an international development organization. Currently, WaterAid works in safe water, sanitation and healthcare practices in 26 countries around the world. WaterAid's activities in Bangladesh started in 1986.
 
WaterAid Vision: WaterAid wants to see the world in a way where everyone has safe water, sanitation and hygiene.
WaterAid Mission: WaterAid aims to improve the quality of life of the world's poorer people by improving safe drinking water, hygiene practices and sanitation. WaterAid works with NGOs for good results and affects the opinions of decision-makers at different levels.
 
Ideas about the Wash Result Project
 
The Wash Result Project is designed to achieve strategic development targets with DFID's financing and collaboration. The project is being implemented through various international development organizations (Plan Bangladesh, Wadek) and other organizations, including WaterAid Bangladesh.
 
Project Duration:
 
From 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2021 Output Poison: From June 2017 to June 2019 Outcome Poison: From July 2019 to March 2021
 
Project Action: 18 Unions of Thakurgaon sadar upazila. Respectively, Akcha, Akhanagar, Awalipur, Balia, Baragaon, Begunbari, Chilarang, Deibpur, Dulaia, Jamalpur, Jagannathpur, Mohammadpur, Nargon, Rahimanpur, Rajagaon, Ruhia West, Raipur and Shakhanapukuri.
 
Project Manpower: Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila Office 9 (PM-1, Monitoring Officer-1, Engineer-1, Finance Officer-1, Community Development Officer-3, 2 Support Staff). 18 unions will have 18 offices, each office will have 3 as 54 Union Facilitators sitting. Besides, there will be 162 Community Volunteers in 9 wards in each union. Total manpower of this project - 225 people
 
Project implementation phase: The project area will be implemented in four phases including community, ward, union and upazila.
 
Project aims: To provide safe water, sanitation facilities and improved health rules to the poor people of the northern and northern part of the country and to help them achieve sustainable development goals.
 
Project objective:
 
Safe water: 100 percent of the people in the project area are drinking and drinking safe water sources.
Sanitation: All beneficiary households are using sanitary latrines, of which 75 percent use advanced latrines.
Hygiene practice: Beneficiaries are practicing the practice of washing hands in a hands-on.
Government System: The Union Council is monitoring and coordinating the wash activities in its area.

1.1: Setting area suitable water points
1.2: Repair and renovation of conventional water points
1.3: Quality test of water
1.4: Stakeholder involvement in quarterly meetings and other activities
1.5: Celebrating World Water Day
1.6: Training of caretakers and community mechanics for water point repair and maintenance
 
Sanitation:
The main work:
2.1.1 To set up latrines in the grassroots and ensure the use of it
2.2: Establishing Latrines with the help of poor people, deprived and disabled people
2.3: Expanding Capacity Building and Sanitation Equipments of Local Entrepreneurs on Sanitation Marketing
2.4: Celebration of Sanitation month at union and upazila level
2.5: Development of the capacity of the Union Wash Standing Committee for the improvement of sanitation status at local level
2.6: Word level CBO structure
 
 
Hygiene practice:
The main work:
3.1: Organize a campaign at community level in the practice of hand washing practice
3.2: Discussion in the meeting with the women and the adolescent for hygiene, especially with soap in hand.
3.3: Large scale publicity / celebration day celebration in the ward, union and upazila level
3.4: Poplar at Upazilla and Community level
